This policy covers Wobbly TV, the Apple TV app. Looking for the iPhone / iPad / Mac app instead? See the Wobbly Privacy Policy. The two are separate products with different data practices — Wobbly TV has no ads and no advertising SDK.
Wobbly TV ("the App") is developed and published by Embay, LLC. This privacy policy explains how the App and this website (trywobbly.com) handle your information — see Contact below for our full data-controller details.
Wobbly TV has no ads and no advertising SDK. Specifically:
The App does use anonymous, consent-gated usage analytics and crash diagnostics, described next.
Wobbly TV uses Google Firebase (Analytics + Crashlytics) to understand which scenes people enjoy and to catch crashes. This collection is off by default and is enabled only as follows:
When enabled, this collects:
This data is not linked to your identity, does not include an advertising identifier (IDFA), and is never used to track you across apps or websites. It is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Wobbly TV offers a free 7-day trial that unlocks every scene. After the trial, The Ants and Glow Worms remain free forever; a single one-time, non-consumable purchase — Wobbly TV+ ($9.99) — unlocks everything else, permanently. There is no subscription.
The purchase is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. Wobbly TV does not process, store, or have access to your payment information.
To keep the trial period fair, the App stores your trial start date in Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store (part of your iCloud account), in addition to on-device storage, so the trial cannot be reset by deleting and reinstalling the App. This value is only a date — no other information — and it is scoped to your Apple ID under Apple's own iCloud privacy terms. If you are not signed in to iCloud, this step is skipped and only on-device storage is used.
The following is stored on-device and never leaves it (aside from the trial-date value described above):
This data is removed when you delete the App.
Wobbly TV does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The App has no ads and no accounts; usage analytics defaults to off and, in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, stays off unless affirmatively enabled. The App is rated 4+ on the App Store.
Wobbly TV uses the following third-party services:
All scenes render entirely on your device with no network dependency.
This website uses Google Analytics 4 (gtag, property G-P0J59QYL37) to understand aggregate visitor traffic. This applies only to your use of the website and is separate from the App. Where required, this processing is carried out on the basis of your consent.
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so under Article 6 GDPR:
Embay, LLC itself collects no personal data through the App. The limited data described above is handled by our service providers:
We share personal data only with the service providers necessary to operate the App and website. We do not sell your personal data. Our providers are:
Our service providers (Apple and Google) are based in the United States and may process personal data in the US and in other countries. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA or the UK, these providers rely on their own safeguards, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Embay, LLC retains no personal data about you itself. Data on your device (settings and purchase state) persists until you delete the App. The iCloud trial-start date is scoped to your Apple ID and is not otherwise retained by us. App analytics and website analytics data are retained according to the retention periods configured on our respective Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics properties.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the following rights over your personal data under the GDPR:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@trywobbly.com. Because Embay, LLC holds no personal data about you itself, some requests may need to be directed to the relevant provider (Apple or Google); we will help you do so where appropriate.
If you are in the EEA, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. A list of national authorities is available from the European Data Protection Board at edpb.europa.eu. If you are in the UK, you may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
Any personal data processed in connection with the App or website is obtained only directly from your use of them, not from third-party sources. You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide personal data. Providing such data is optional; the only consequence of declining (for example, by opting out of usage analytics) is that we won't receive that anonymous signal — the App's functionality is unaffected either way.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this policy.
Wobbly TV is developed and published by Embay, LLC, a limited liability company registered in Florida, USA. For the purposes of the EU GDPR and the UK GDPR, Embay, LLC is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, and given the scale and nature of our processing we are not required to.
